Sustainability Aware is a series of educational apps made to inform and engage kids about our environment and our impacts on the Earth. In Eating Green, we find out how food arrives on our plates and look at ways we can make sustainable food choices.

In this app we’ll learn about:
• the importance of food for our health and well-being
• how food is manufactured and produced
• how some of our current practices are unsustainable
• environmental issues such as food waste and food packaging.

We’ll then find out about more sustainable choices we can make, such as:
• sustainable farming practices
• organic food
• eating local and seasonal food
• eating natural and healthy food
• planting your own food and making a garden.

Reading level: Approximately 8–10 years old, Australian middle to upper primary school level. Suitable for guided reading and classroom use.

With engaging content, these apps transform tricky, theoretical scientific topics into information readers can easily grasp. Each app shows how kids can actively take part in leading the world to a sustainable future. It takes an informed, realistic approach to the issues and offers practical, everyday suggestions for how we can all live more sustainably. All of our apps are jam-packed with information and enhanced interactive elements.

Our apps include the following features:
• breakout features to expand on the content and broaden a student’s understanding of the issues
• glossary terms – difficult words are highlighted and explained in pop-up boxes.
